“The JG Consulting Leadership Academy event at Google was a resounding success, with participants praising the high-quality content, engaging workshops, and unparalleled networking opportunities. The event helped school system leaders prepare for the role of Superintendent and provided the Google team(s) with a unique opportunity to connect with some of those future leaders. This is one of (hopefully) many more Academies that Google and JG Consulting will be hosting together.”

Kevin Hodges

Texas LCS Lead, Google for Education

“As an attendee in these Leadership Academies I have experienced first-hand the opportunities to develop meaningful conversations around the successes and pain points experienced by district leaders across the country. These conversations have led to partnerships which have positively impacted students across the country by helping them systematically gain access and support to rigorous courses needed to be college and career ready. I have also witnessed the outstanding professional leadership team that JG Consulting provides to build capacity in aspiring education leaders. The depth of conversations that occur in these leadership cohorts, certainly provide participants with strong knowledge and the benefit of a network of mentors as they move into their next levels of leadership. Both of which will be invaluable to districts!”

As a vendor I would highly recommend JG Consulting Leadership Academy as an opportunity to network and partner with leaders in K-12 education. I would also highly recommend JG Consulting as a search firm to locate your next candidates to fill any executive level education leadership positions you may have.”

Governance Coach

“The JG Leadership Academy has been instrumental in my professional journey toward becoming a successful superintendent. My name is Tarrynce G. Robinson, and I am the Superintendent of the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District in West Allis, Wisconsin. As a member of Cohort V in ’2022-23 in this exceptional program, I had the privilege of engaging and collaborating in a supportive environment that enriched my learning experience and fostered invaluable connections with peers who shared similar aspirations and challenges.

The Leadership Academy encouraged meaningful dialogue, the exchange of ideas, and shared learning, creating a sense of camaraderie that enhanced our understanding of leadership in education. By learning alongside a diverse group of dedicated professionals, I gained a broader perspective on the complexities of the superintendent role, preparing me to address the multifaceted needs of a school district with confidence and competence. Most importantly the sessions were led by experienced superintendents and were a cornerstone of the academy’s approach. These sessions offered a practical, real-world perspective on the superintendent’s responsibilities and challenges. Each session weekend, I had the opportunity to engage with seasoned leaders who generously shared their expertise, insights, and personal experiences. From navigating district politics to managing budgets and cultivating community relationships, these sessions were not only informative but also deeply inspiring.

A key aspect of the academy was its emphasis on preparation through practical scenarios. These exercises allowed me to apply the knowledge and skills I was gaining in a simulated, risk-free environment. Whether it was addressing a district-wide crisis, setting a long-term strategic vision, or crafting a mission statement, the scenarios provided a hands-on approach that enhanced my decision-making abilities and strategic thinking.

In addition to leadership and crisis management skills, the program also focused on resume development and interview preparation. The tailored assistance I received helped me craft a resume that effectively highlighted my achievements and strengths. Furthermore, the interview strategies and mock sessions gave me the confidence and poise necessary to present myself as a strong candidate in the highly competitive superintendent hiring process.

The JG Leadership Academy prepared me not only to secure a superintendent position but also to lead with vision, purpose, and resilience. By equipping me with practical tools, a network of supportive colleagues, and the wisdom of experienced mentors, the academy transformed my professional outlook and leadership capabilities.

I wholeheartedly recommend the JG Leadership Academy to any aspiring leader or superintendent who is committed to excellence in educational leadership. This program is a true investment in your future and the future of the students and communities you will serve.”
