Las Cruces Public Schools Board of Education Names New Superintendent
The Las Cruces Public Schools Board of Education unanimously voted July 1 to approve the selection of Ignacio Ruíz as the next Las Cruces Public Schools superintendent. Ruíz’s first day on the job will be Tuesday, Aug. 1. Interim Superintendent Sherley O’Brien will oversee the district until that date. Community ISD Names Central Texas Administrator as Next Superintendent
Community ISD announced its next superintendent Monday. The district’s board of trustees said Dr. Tonya Knowlton is the “lone finalist” for the superintendent position in a special meeting. Knowlton, currently a superintendent of Lexington ISD in Central Texas, spent the majority of her career in education in East Texas, where she served as a teacher, principal, adjunct professor and superintendent until moving to Lexington ISD in 2017. Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools has hired a new superintendent. The Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of Dr. Anna Stubblefield on Friday. Stubblefield is currently the deputy superintendent for Lawrence Public Schools. She has held this position since 2018 after serving as the interim superintendent for the 2017-18 school year. “We are truly excited about the hiring of Dr. Stubblefield and look forward to the experience and leadership she will bring to our school district and community,” said Randy Lopez, Board of Education president. Dripping Springs ISD Names Holly Morris-Kuentz Lone Finalist for Superintendent
The Dripping Springs ISD board of trustees voted unanimously to select Holly Morris-Kuentz as lone finalist for district superintendent at an April 13 meeting. Morris-Kuentz is set to be officially hired in May following a state-mandated 21-day waiting period. Currently Deputy Superintendent of Lake Travis ISD, where she has served since 2009, Morris-Kuentz was selected after a nationwide search conducted by third-party firm JG Consulting. Agua Fria Union High School District’s Governing Board voted unanimously during an eight-minute special meeting March 31 to confirm the employment contract for Mark Yslas as the district’s new superintendent. Mr. Yslas’ tenure will begin July 1, 2021, following the retirement of Dr. Dennis Runyan. Sito Narcisse Selected as New EBR Schools Superintendent
In a five to four vote, the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board selected Dr. Sito Narcisse as the new leader for the school system in a meeting Thursday, January 14. There were three candidates vying for the position of superintendent, including Interim Superintendent Adam Smith, Narcisse and Marla Sheppard. The board members who voted for Narcisse were Evelyn Ware-Jackson, Michael Gaudet, Jill Dyason, Mark Bellue and Dadrius Lanus. Read more »

The Victoria school board voted unanimously 6-0 Tuesday evening, after spending 20 minutes in closed session, to select Quintin Shepherd, Linn-Mar Community School District‘s superintendent for three years. The Pathway to Superintendency

San Marcos CISD Approves Superintendent Search Firm
San Marcos CISD unanimously voted Dec. 7 to hire JG Consulting as the firm to handle the district’s upcoming superintendent search. JG Consulting will help gather input from the community, the board of trustees and district staff to create a candidate profile.
